Steps to Respect

Blueprints Program Rating: Promising

A 12-14 week anti-bullying curriculum, plus a grade appropriate literature unit, delivered to third to sixth grade students to reduce bullying and destructive bystander behaviors, increase prosocial beliefs related to bullying, and increase social-emotional skills.

Initial Training and Technical Assistance

Self-facilitated training for Steps to Respect is included with the curriculum. The Committee for Children offers on site staff training should schools prefer this option. The cost is $1,500 plus travel.

Curriculum and Materials

The Initial School-wide Kit costs $859 and includes a Program Guide and three grade-level kits, one each for the targeted grades. Additional grade-level kits are available for $249 each.

If a school chooses to provide the training outside the normal school day, there may be costs for teacher time.

Steps to Respect is implemented by teachers during the regular school day.

Ongoing Training and Technical Assistance

On-going training is self-facilitated. In addition, repeats of the onsite training are available for $1,500 plus travel. This can be used as a booster or to train new teachers.

Year One Cost Example

Below is an example of Year One costs for an elementary school to implement Steps to Respect in each of 2 classes at grades 4, 5, and 6, each class with 25 students. Training would occur during professional development days.
